With regard to the upcoming, scientific interim evaluation of the Know-Center the results of the research projects carried out so far have been presented to renowned experts of Know-Center’s international and interdisciplinary scientific advisory board on 28th April 2017.

The Know-Center’s scientific advisory board is composed of ten internationally renowned experts in the fields of Social Computing, Ubiquitous Personal Computing, Knowledge Discovery, and Knowledge Visualization as well as Strategy. In close coordination with the scientific advisory board, the Know-Center defines and aligns its scientific direction and research focus, while continuously adjusting it according to the most recent international developments in order to meet highest quality requirements.

At this meeting in April 2017, the Area Heads from Social Computing, Ubiquitous Personal Computing, Knowledge Discovery, and Knowledge Visualization have presented the results of their on-going and finished research projects.

Along with Stefanie Lindstaedt, CEO of the Know-Center and further Know-Center employees, the following members of the Scientific Advisory Board — Reinhard Posch (Austrian Federal Chancellery), Bernardo Magnini (FBK), Benno Stein (University of Weimar), Daniel Keim (University of Konstanz), Ronald Maier (University of Insbruck), Jörn Kohlhammer (Fraunhofer IGD) and Sure-Vetter York (AIFB) — discussed the scientific alignment of Know-Center and the necessary measures for research excellence over the course of two days.

During the course of this two-day meeting, Know-Center has thus received valuable feedback from the scientific advisory board as well as directive recommendations for its own research direction as well as for the upcoming intermittent evaluation by the funding partners.
